Intimate concerts by exceptional artists

About once a month we transform into Ronnie Scott's little cousin in NW6.

We find artists whose music we love.  The music is centre stage, we aim for crystal clear sound and set most tables for only two people to create a beautifully musical ambiance.

There's a 6.30pm show and an 8.30pm show.  Only 12 tables for two in each.

Music dinners always sell out so be sure to book early.  Enjoy!

Thurs 24 Feb

A few months ago when I discovered Raina's debut album "If They're Mine", it played on repeat for about a week. I was loving her jazzy/R&B sound and soulful, sassy vocal.  Based in New York, I wondered if she might be performing in London anytime soon...

Lo and behold she had a couple of shows scheduled in February and next thing you know - we've added a date at the Wet Fish!  How very lucky we are.

Hailing from Brooklyn, Raina was born into a family of musicians. Music runs deep within her veins. She's making waves on the New York music scene, packing prestigious venues such as Brooklyn Bowl and Rockwood Music Hall... Come and see why!

"Absolutely amazing" Ray Davies

Get ready for another sell-out music dinner with the captivating Sam Brookes - a second chance if you missed him last time.

Sublime voice, beautifully crafted songs. His shows at the Wet Fish have been superb.

Not your stereotypical ‘folk bard ‘ his love of singing and performing has been evolving since his days as a chorister, singing for the Queen at her private Chapel in Great Windsor Park; add to this his training as a gilder and Sam already stands apart from his contemporaries.

Immaculate phrasing, beautifully modulated delivery... Check him out on Spotify, you'll soon have him on repeat.

Expect a quiet and intimate performance from an artist who's making quite a name for himself.

ALMUNIA
Summer Solstice Sundowner
Sunday 21 June, 5pm onwards...

New territory for us... this'll be an evening of sound-scaping.

I love a Pink Floydy (Floydy?!) guitar sound, and I love smooth deep house grooves. Put the two together and you get Almunia - a duo from Italy whose album New Moon (check it on Spotify) makes me feel way cooler than I really am.

Lucky us they're making a rare visit to London and celebrating summer solstice with a live performance at the Wet Fish. Soak up the vibe with a Tom Collins or if you're really feeling it, a Negroni!

Sunday 21 June from 5pm - drop in for a cocktail or book yourself a table for dinner. Easy.

SMITTY'S BIG FOUR
Jazz & swing!
Weds 28 Jan

“a lively, friendly, swinging, civilised new band playing approachable music…a welcome addition to the London scene…definitely a band to watch out for” LondonJazz News

The little brother of the Kansas Smitty's House Band, the Big Four plays the music of Sidney Bechet and the upbeat swing of 1930s New Orleans.

The Big Four's unique combination of trumpet, soprano sax/clarinet, guitar and bass, separates the group from traditional Dixieland groups with the omission of drums and piano.

This streamlined formation allows the band to navigate New Orleans and swing standards with energy and tightness while maintaining melodic integrity. The band features Pete Horsfall, Giacomo Smith, Dave Archer, and Ferg Ireland.

Best book quick as this'll be popular. Feel free to wear a hat ;-)

BASIN ST BRAWLERS
20s & 30s hot swinging jazz
Weds 22 Jan

Trilbys and cloche hats optional but encouraged!

Oh boy are we looking forward to this one.  Step into a 1920s speakeasy with the best toe-tapping jazz from the era - Cole Porter, George Gershwin... delivered in the style of Louis Armstrong and Fats Waller...

The Basin Street Brawlers are London's own master exponents of hot jazz, swinging their way through the most beautiful melodies and raucous rags of the 1920s and 30s.

This will be another great night of food, music and well, who knows...

EMILIA MARTENSSON
Jazz duo
Weds 6 Nov

After a summer break, live music at the Wet Fish is back with a very special act - Emilia Martensson accompanied by Barry Green on keyboard.

"The new face of British Jazz 2012..." The Observer

"...intimate, poised and even otherworldly..." Metro

"...Ethereal voice..." Time Out

"Barry Green... as well as being a strong soloist he is something of a singer's dream accompanist." Jazz Breakfast

Their debut album, And So it Goes, documents the duo’s shared love of a wide range of material, presenting fresh and exciting arrangements of a superb choice of songs. Drawing on the wistful folk songs of Emilia’s homeland alongside some of the greatest songs of the last century, the recording is a finely poised blend of jazz and artful alt-pop.

For sure, the jazz vocal legends inform Emilia's approach, yet it is the Swedish folk songs of her country that underpins who she is. Her pure, clear toned intimate voice, at times deeply soulful, at others ethereal, blur the lines between folk and jazz.

EDDINE SAID
Spanish soul
Weds 3 July

We've invited Eddine Saïd back for another  atmospheric evening of 'jazz club' style dining with his acoustic soul trio - Sunday 3 July.

Eddine has stripped down and adapted his sound especially for these acoustic performances at the Wet Fish.

His success on the Spanish soul and R&B scene comes from mixing Bossa, Rumba and Blues with his North African roots.
